MicroAir Pristine® covers are made of 100% polyester microfibre using a tightly woven technique.
Its dense weave, made up of many fine microfibres in the weft and warp, limits the passage of mites and allergen particles through the fabric while keeping it breathable. As a result, it causes less sweating and is quieter than coated (laminated) fabrics.
According to the manufacturer, the fabric was developed by NASA engineers and is patented in the USA (US 6,277,770 B1).
Comparative studies have shown that tightly woven fabrics are effective at blocking mite penetration, whereas allergen can accumulate over time in non-woven covers.
